Become an intervention trainer

More than 60 LA teams have one or more members who have attended Numicon training for Trainers and now provide Numicon Training within their Authority.

We have two Intervention Training options for LA staff and SENCOs/maths subject leaders:

1. LA Staff are trained to deliver Numicon Intervention Training only

We are offering two day Intervention training for those who have not attended Numicon training for trainers in the past. This is aimed at LA maths or learning support teams (and SENCOs / maths subject leaders) who wish to train support teachers and teaching assistants to deliver the Numicon Intervention Programme.  This training does not equip attendees to train other trainers.

Day 1

Focus on the rationale behind the Numicon teaching approach and the teaching activities.

Day 2
Focus on training to deliver the Intervention Programme itself.

The two day course will cost £450 + VAT per attendee and will include the Intervention Manual, a CD containing the presentations that you will need, with embedded video clips, annotated notes pages and all handouts.

2. LA Staff are trained to deliver Numicon for Quality First and Intervention

 Here, you will first attend the two day Quality First Training for Trainers Course (£450 +VAT per person). Included in the course fee is a CD, including master presentations with annotated notes pages and a CD of video clips. After attending the Quality First Training for Trainers, you will attend a further day’s Intervention Trainers Course at £250 +VAT per attendee, including everything listed above.

Other support for Local Authority Teams

Numicon is committed to supporting LA teams and therefore offers 40% discount* to LAs wishing to purchase resources for their team members. All staff delivering Numicon Intervention Training will require a copy of the teaching materials for Closing the Gap with Numicon Kit and Numicon Kit 1. They will also need Numicon resources for practical activities on the training.

*this excludes Number Rods (NR and NRS) and Pan Balances (BAL), where a maximum of 25% discount is available. Also no discount is available on our Homework Activities (HWAECC).
