A new big number book featuring delightful number songs by Rachel Hussain and appealing whimsical illustrations by Mary Kilvert. This product introduces a new and exciting way for young children to use and apply their number understanding, connecting Numicon images and activities with images of the seaside.
Big Book ‘Numicon at the Seaside’ comes in a protective portfolio case together with four small sized copies of the big book, a CD of the ten songs and a Teaching Guide, giving the words and music and suggestions for questioning and discussion and photocopy activities for school and home work.
‘Numicon at the Seaside’ is designed to work with the Numicon Foundation Kit to help children aged 4-5 develop an rich understanding of number ideas by directly connecting Numicon Shapes and patterns, numerals and counting around the theme of the seaside, in other words to help develop in children rich concept images of number ideas 1-10. The idea of ‘concept image’ is fully explained in the Numicon Foundation Stage Teaching Guide, as are the key mathematical ideas that children will encounter in the rhymes, pictures and activities.
