Numicon for Early Years Foundation Stage
As we know, children’s early experiences at home and school have a huge impact on their later achievement in maths. This is why we have carefully developed our First Steps with Numicon, Numicon Firm Foundations Kit and our Numicon at the Seaside Big Book Set for children aged 3-5. Through playing with Numicon Maths Shapes in the progressive series of practical fun activities, young children learn about number ideas and how numbers fit together, in a way not provided just by written numerals. There are ideas for extending the core activities through inside and outdoor play and the all important maths language is signalled for each activity.
1st Steps with Numicon - At Home Kit
>> Is designed for parents and carers of pre-school children aged 3 - 5 and introduces early ideas about number and arithmetic.
Firm Foundations Kit
>> This kit is suitable for pupils working at P level 4 to National Curriculum level 1B. It is helpful for pupils of any age who are meeting Numicon for the first time to do the Foundation Activities.
Numicon at the Seaside Big Book Set
>> A new big number book featuring delightful number songs by Rachel Hussain and appealing whimsical illustrations by Mary Kilvert. This product introduces a new and exciting way for young children to use and apply their number understanding, connecting Numicon images and activities with images of the seaside.
