Numicon for Special Needs (Support Teaching)
Numicon’s small steps teaching programme with its use of strong visual imagery and the emphasis on pattern and language is proving successful for pupils who are experiencing difficulty including those who have special needs. Our new Closing the Gap with Numicon Teaching Materials offer guidance to help teachers address pupils’ difficulties in learning and accessing mathematics and includes some sections on issues relating to specific SEN categories.

Closing the Gap with Numicon
>> This kit has been designed specifically for pupils of any age who are experiencing significantly greater difficulty learning mathematics than the majority of pupils of their age.
Numicon Kit 1
>> Suitable for pupils working at National Curriculum Level 1B - 2B and builds on the Foundation Kit.
Numicon Kit 2
>> Suitable for pupils working at National Curriculum levels 2 and 3 and building on from Kit 1.
Conversion Kits
>> Conversion Kits provide just the printed materials and parts not included in earlier kits. These combine with the Firm Foundations Kit or Numicon Kit 1 to give the full teaching programme without duplicating materials.
