Maths Software for Interactive Whiteboards
Designed to enhance the multi-sensory Numicon programme, our interactive whiteboard software offers teachers a rich library of images and models to use in whole class teaching.
Key Features
• Numicon Maths Shapes and Number Rods can be manipulated on screen to give a visual image of arithmetic operations and mental arithmetic strategies. Numicon Shapes are used with number lines, number tracks, hundred squares and other models to help pupils, in a whole-class teaching sessions, make connections in problem solving and to understand the properties of arithmetic operations like inverse and commutativity.
• Based on feedback from IT managers the software is now downloaded from the internet and can be installed on the school network, enabling schools to manage the software license centrally rather than locally on individual PCs if they wish. In order for schools to manage and download their software we require a valid and appropriate email address to send the licensing details to (normally that of an IT administrator) please provide this when you order the software. Sending an appropriate email address at this point will ensure the software can be used as soon as possible after purchase. • The software provides different images including: objects for counting, coins, number generators, hoops to use in sorting, division and fractions. The pictures of various everyday objects can be used to illustrate word problems to help children use and apply their arithmetic.
• Designed as a tool for demonstration. We strongly recommend that the multi-sensory approach is maintained by giving each pupil a set of 1-10 Numicon Shapes which they can hold up in response to questions. Sets of 1-10 Shapes are available separately.

The purchase and license process
Step 1
School selects which license option they want (4-user, 30-user, Site) and makes the purchase by fax or via our webshop, making sure they supply a valid and appropriate email address. (if the order is placed via our webshop the email address will need to be enter into the ‘Order and delivery comments:’ field at the bottom of the ‘check out’ page.)
Step 2
Once we have received the order an email is automatically sent to the address provided. This email will contain important information, including your license key and a link to the licensing web-portal.
Step 3
School staff member accesses the link to activate the software by entering the license key, the name of the school, and an email address, plus set up an admin username and password. The email address used is then sent a confirmation email containing a link, once this link has been accessed the software is activated. N.B. These steps only need to be followed once after the initial purchase of the software.
Step 4
Once the software is active the school can log in to the licensing web-portal and download the software to a computer or server. If the school wishes to disseminate the software over a server they can use the MSI file. The licensing website remains accessible with the admin username and password to download the software on to additional machines etc. in the future, however, you are not required to log in to use software that has already been downloaded.
